There are so many questions surrounding Cannabidiol (CBD) especially with the recent buzz about the DEA classifying CBD as a schedule 1 drug. We’re here to clear up any misunderstandings you might have!
In short, nothing has changed in regards to the legality of CBD sourced from industrial hemp. CBD that is derived from industrial hemp containing <.3% THC is completely legal to purchase in all 50 states under the federal Farm Bill of 2014. The FDA of the United States considers hemp oil a dietary supplement meaning if you live in the United States you are not required to have a prescription to purchase or consume CBD products.
We’ve researched the brands we have partnered with and will continue to do so as we expand our inventory. We’re knowledgeable of the legality surrounding CBD and ensure the products we offer are created with legally sourced CBD. Which makes is ironic that we have had such a difficult time securing a proper merchant services account in order to sell these products.
We’ve been fighting an uphill battle when it comes to this. Even though selling CBD products is completely legal the nature of our business is still considered “high-risk”. We have encountered many issues which have delayed our being able to offer products for B2C, having our credit card processing cancelled just shortly after we launched as well as jumping through countless hoops just trying to find a vendor willing to take on our account. Thankfully, it seems we’ve reached the home stretch and will be able to process payments within the coming days.
Situations such as this leaves us asking when will it be easier to provide CBD products that have helped so many people? Even though we don’t have the answer to this question, we will continue to strive to provide a wide-range of quality CBD products to our customers.
