CBD Poses No Public Health Risks or Potential for Abuse According to WHO Report

According to a recent report filed by the World Health Organization's (WHO) Expert Committee on Drug Dependents the use of naturally occurring CBD, found in cannabis, is well tolerated by the body and not associated with any potential health risks. In addition the authors of this report also admit that CBD "exhibits no effects indicative of any abuse or dependence potential". This can likely be attributed to the fact that while CBD offers the potential of relief from various ailments it does activate the CB1 or CB2 receptors thus producing no psychoactive effects. Later in China, it has been known through historical documentation and archeology that hemp was used to make clothes, shoes, ropes and early forms of paper. Textile expert Elizabeth Wayland Barber summarizes the...

Is CBD from Hemp the Same as CBD from MMJ?

A common question amongst people interested in the benefits of CBD and those already versed in the MMJ community is whether CBD from hemp is as good as CBD from marijuana. It is a common misconception that hemp-derived CBD is considered “less potent” or not as effective but it should come as no surprise the similarities between hemp and marijuana since they are both versions of Cannabis Sativa. On a molecular level, CBD from hemp is exactly the same as CBD from marijuana. The body does not care where the CBD comes from since it cannot tell the difference. This is amazing considering all the people who have limited to no access to state-approved medical marijuana now have the ability...
